Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) allows you to improve the security of your account by requiring an additional form of verification upon sign in using your email and password.
Instructions on how to configure MFA are detailed in our Documentation
This article discusses available options for account recovery in the event of losing access to your mobile device or the Authenticator app used in the initial configuration.
With recovery codes
This is the easiest path to recovery and logging into the account.
When MFA is configured for the first time on your account, the Fauna Dashboard displays a list of one-time-use recovery codes. If you have the recovery codes available, use one of them as the security code for login.
Once logged in, disable MFA and re-configure it with a new device.
Without recovery codes
If you do not have or lost the recovery codes, then the only way to recover your account would be to contact Fauna Support, and we can help you.
We will need the following information (any 3), in addition to your Fauna account email to verify account ownership before we can unlock your account.
- What was the date and time the account was created?
- Where were you located (what city) when the account was created?
- For any recent changes to your user settings (for example, contact email, company name, etc.), what was the change and when did it happen?
- Share details about your databases, for example, the names of databases and which region group they are in.
